Stone Memories
Stone begins here with weight, endurance, and stillness.
Through layering, transparency, colour, and overlapping form, that weight begins to shift. Solidity becomes permeable. What appears fixed enters relation with what surrounds it.
The forms retain a sense of gravity while moving away from literal representation. They gather, overlap, recede, and return across the surface.
Memory enters through this accumulation.
Earlier forms remain consequential even when partially covered. A layer may disappear from view while continuing to alter the painting above it. What has passed remains active in what can still appear.
Stone becomes less an object than a way of holding time: persistence altered through relation, weight meeting transparency, endurance carrying change.
